Any progression system in game?

Is there any progression system in the game? Or any objectives? Or is it just free skating and nothing to get or obtain or achieve? It seems like a cool game but i would like to have something to aim for.

so yes, there is enough to do....
you can get every skater to maximum stats, unlock every map, do all the gaps there, then do the hard challenges.... oh well, you can also unlock new skaters...

is of course at some point "always the same", but until then also a lot of variety

Skate Tours = playing all THPS1+2 levels, with all goals in each level in tact, sequentially. These are essentially the career mode of the game.
You have overall progress then per-skater progress too. I advise your first play through you do it with a pro, as you get more XP from challenges that way.

Otherwise, you have speed run mode to see how fast you can complete all objectives in a level. You have free skate, where it;s no time limit or objectives, just explore the level and complete gaps. You have multiplayer online, including ranked mode too.

There's a lot of content but unfortunately the levels are not like THUG or THUG2 where it's all designed to be easily combo-able, there's some janky stuff an d some maps are just so small and boring with the more modern mechanics.

There's a mod called THPSPRO that's added in every level from THPS3 and 4 and some from THUG, ongoing though. The modder plans to get all levels in, then get objectives and gaps working properly. He even added in some new items to wear :D

how did you manage to only get to level 63 with over 200 challenges unlocked ?? i'm at 95 challenges unlocked and i'm level 57 already (that said, i haven't focused on unlocking challenges because i unlocked like 500 on my epic store version already 3 years ago so i'm taking it slow this time and playing for fun chilled out :D)

edit: but i agree that theres tons to do. hundreds of hours until you finish it all i think.. i played through the game 26 times on epic store (with all skaters, all secret skaters and 2 of my own making) and got like 500 challenges done and it took me 120 hours so theres easily content for like 150-200 hours :D (took me that long because i didn't play thps for 20 years before 2020 so i was pretty bad at the beginning lol :P now i could easily get that 10 mil achiev in like half an hour of trying but i want to get it as the last one because its golden and looks quite cool so i'm not stressing it with setting records :P)

All of this is moot. The XP cap becomes a hard grind at 71; You will soon realize a lot of the challenges, even some of the secret difficult ones, are rather useless if they offer less than 2000 XP.

A friend of mine underwent the boring task of doing all 800 something on Nintendo Switch and he only got to level 93; The XP you get from multiplayer is also a joke.

Getting 1.2million points in single session then ending run then starting again, rinse/repeat, super boring but the XP yield is far greater than doing anything legitimate and this is the only way to truly get to 100.

...And this is with the XP patch. Most challenges only gave from 75 to 500 XP MAX on PS4 launch. enjoy..

Thanks everyone for the input. I bought the game but i dont like the 2 minute timer. There is a free skate mode, can i still unlock challenges in free skate mode?

as far as i have seen there are also many challenges that only bring money... haven't really concentrated on it now, but i mean all the build your park challenges for the achievements only bring money...

Integrated mods for challenges? What do you mean? There are mods with challenges?

in the past it was called "unlocking cheats", in the options there is an item "mods".

here you can set, among other things, perfect rail, manual or lip balance, or that the special bar is always filled.

just take a look at "options > mods", there it is also basically explained above.
