The reason it's not working for you is because you have Steam Input enabled emulating an Xbox controller.
Just right click on game in your Steam Library, select Properties, then Controller and then on the Override option select "Disable Steam Input" on the drop down.
This is how you access the native PS controller support on any game that happens to have it on Steam.

I think you have to use them wired unless someone figured something better out.
ITs not straight forward to use, take the light bar on the DS4 for instance, it is possible to adjust the colour and the brightness with the same RGB values sliders but its not obvious, i thought a separate percentage slider would be used to adjust brightness.
