Revert to Manual - help!
Hi there. THPS.... when I was a teenager, I used to ENDLESSLY play these games for hours, constantly trying to get better and better scores. Of course, being able to revert to manual was critical for this, chaining together stupid amounts of tricks. I had this muscle memory where I'd revert off a ramp and immediately streamline into a manual to get into the next trick.

For some reason I just CAN'T with this game and I'm wondering what the heck I'm doing wrong.

I have been in the warehouse in free skate so long just trying to get this.

I can manual in the game. I can chain together grind and flip tricks.

The revert feels a little different, but I can still do it coming back from vert pretty consistently.

But revert to manual? I can do it like one time out of a billion. It is so frustrating... especially for someone who spent so many hours as a kid doing it over and over.

Does anyone have any tips for me???

Just before you land, spam R2 / revert key. Then quickly after that, spam up down / down up.
The game buffers you inputs, meaning you can spam keys and they will be executed after a delay. Kind of similar to fighting games.
Maybe you are pressing up down to slowly, or revert to early or to late.

You can also revert into boneless and no comply, if you press R2 and Up up Ollie.

Hope it helps.

flick the stick up constantly after a revert. I never "just press" up/down and vice versa.
OH MY GOD IT WORKS. I am actually doing it.

thanks so much for the tip.

I used to play these games all the time on N64, GBA, etc... so, the older ones... and my muscle memory was, as soon as you hit the ramp do the revert and then immediately do the manual combo, one time each. I've never had to "spam" this stuff in the old games... but it's working.

so, i guess it's time to form some new muscle memory... time to try to get the timing and process down.

in the mean time, THANK YOU. I was going nuts trying to get it to work.
