Do you use D-Pad or analogue stick?
I am pretty certain, that I used the analogue stick, when I was first playing the remake on Epic, but since I got a new X-Box-Controller (had an older one before), the game just feels much more natural on the D-Pad, am I right? What are you using?

I think the consensus is to use the D-pad for Tony Hawk.
I can't imagine balancing and steering a manual on analog... yuck.

dpad for me constant up down movements for manuals is easier.

I also play fighting games on dpad because of that reason

I exclusively use Xbox controllers...however, for this game I switch to a PS5 controller specifically for the D-Pad.

I have a Hori Battle Pad controller atm and I remember always playing Tony Hawk games with dpad back in the days, but somehow the dpad of this controller feels really bad and for me the analogue stick here works better. This analogue stick does have notches though, so it makes sense that it's easier to control.

For the original 4 on PS1, directional; for American Wasteland / HD / 1+2, analog.

D-Pad on all games in the series. Won't judge people for playing any other way, but it's what works best for me. I also played the original games with a PlayStation controller before owning a DualShock, which may have influenced me for the rest of the time playing these titles.

Tony Hawk games require the precision of a D-pad. They're kinda like fighting games that way. Wonder if anyone plays TH games with a fight stick...

Dpad is definitely superior for THPS. I originally played on OG Xbox and Gamecube, so I learned how to play with thumbstick first. I would briefly switch from the stick to pad as required for certain inputs, then switch back. As soon as I played on a platform that provided a reliable dpad I switched over completely. Thumbsticks are a handicap for any game that requires fast and accurate input.

I kind of like the analog stick until I need to fire off some specials. Then I go D-pad.

I hadn't played a Tony Hawk game in 15 years before this one, but it was immediately d-pad for me and has been for 20+ hours of gameplay.

dpad is more precise with specific imputs

I have always played it with a joystick until underground 2 on the PsP and I can do manuals and any tricks I want, this is not a fighting game, it is more like a driving game
