if they're gonna make playing horse an achievement, the least they can do is allow us to play it. as far as i can tell the only way of doing so right now is through local multiplayer. i like achievement hunting, and i'd like to get all the achievements for this - but im not buying a controller to do it

It was always split screen only; Horse, and tag, where never online.

Though tag eventually became King of the Hill, which is online.

You don't need a second controller, you can control one player with the keyboard.

If you disable manuals, the no, it would be a great game mode.

WIth manuals, it just becomes a score battle, which trick attack and, even more horse-y, elimiskate, already exist.

Though I don't think 1+2 has Elimiskate.

wished they added horse and tag to mp, i liked to play these, would love to play them online too

You can play it via a tool called "Remote Play Whatever" (you can find it on github).
It allows using the Steam feature "Remote Play Together" with any game.
It will stream your local coop session to your steam friend and he will be able to use his controller to play with you.
