Pip?

Anyone else find it odd that he appears only once in the beginning of the game and you never see him again after that? Considering that he's the very first character that you interact with, I just find it weird that he never pops up again and you can't befriend him. Maybe one day we can get a Pip super boss update? .0. He's so mysterious. there must be something more about him.
