Rating for Q.U.B.E.
I'm interested in the ESRB rating that Q.U.B.E. recieved (E for Everyone).

I am a little unsure if the rating is appropriate. While the game is certainly completely clean visually, the language is more than mild and the thematic elements are pretty strong.

Granted, that thematic strength really does add to the feel of the game.

But I'm sure that these elements aren't suitable for a lot of young kids who fall under the "E for Everyone" rating. Few kids under 13 (I'd even say 15) are going to be able to handle (and shouldn't be repeating) the game's language.

I'm simply concerned that someone wil be mislead by the rating and pick out this game for a younger child who might be hurt by the game's stronger elements.

Does anyone else feel this way? How does the Toxic Games team feel about this?

I haven't played it yet, but if these things are true, it should probably be rated T.

Looks like the rating actually got updated to E 10+ for the game's more recent releases on consoles. That's an improvement, but maybe still a little low.

Well, and mind you I don't mind spoilers, what precisely is wrong with the game that kids shouldn't play it? It looks like a simple puzzle game to me, although I did only play the original.

Oh, I see.

I'm talking about the Director's Cut version of the game. the original game had no dialogue.

The Director's Cut is very similar as far as the puzzles go (The team altered a few puzzles, took out some, edited the environment a bit). The big change is that they added a pretty intense psychological thriller/myster mess-with-your-mind type story. That's where the language I mentioned comes in.
