Linux version not working
The game has a SteamOS icon and requirements listed on the store page, but I can't get it to install. If I try to install it, it immediately says it finished downloading, and then if I try to play it, it says that the executable is missing. I have tried deleting local content, verifying integrity, nothing works.

Has anyone else been able to play in Linux?

I'm having the same problem. I don't remember when I got the game, but I've had it in my library for a while.

I'm also having the same problem, Instant "Steam has finished downloading" and it's 0bytes downloaded.

As far as i know this happens in windows version too, you need the standard version to be already installed! and then you can play the DC version.

only problem is that the standard version isn't available for Linux.

I got the game as part of the Humble Indie Bundle 15 and had no issue downloading it through steam.

Thanks so much for the port! :D

Doesn't work for me either - Steam just "downloads" an empty game folder.

I even did a "steam --reset" (hint: make a copy of your "steamapps/common" folder first - "cp -a --link" did the trick for me), but that didn't change anything.

Just a thought - perhaps it's a 32/64 bit issue? Is your system 32 or 64 bit? (Mine is 64 bit...)

If that was the case, we'd be able to download the game but not play it. I think the most likely cause is that all of us who are unable to play it had the game from before, and that the Linux depot is missing from the packages that are tied to our accounts. If you look at the package list[steamdb.info] the depot is only in three, while the Windows depot is included in 11 packages. My guess is they forgot about some, like a previous bundle or something.

I suppose you did try just restarting steam and double checking then the cache? Because I did acquire this as part of Humble Bundle just today and it works - I too am on 64bit linux - it's Mint 17.2

I'm guessing the steam --reset thing should have done that, but it seem odd to me

It won't download for me either. I got the humble version and it works fine, including steam achievements.

Yeah, I've done that, but what I'm saying is that I think it's only working for those of you who got it through the current HIB or bought it directly from Steam. The rest of us probably got it from older bundles or something, but there's no telling unless those who posted about it not working tell us where they got the game from.

What are you saying exactly? It won't download on Steam, but you get achievements when you play the DRM free version, similar to how Papo & Yo works?

I assumed there are (for some games) different packages for 32- and 64 bit systems, and that the 64 bit versions are missing; apparently it's not that simple.

Are you saying that our accounts are not tied to a "product" (as listed on the store page), but to individual sub-packages, or something like that?
That's just crazy... :-(
Anyway, my key is from an old Groupees bundle, and it was a key for the "normal" version that got a free upgrade at some point.

I'm having the same problem. I bought the original Q.U.B.E. three years ago, before Steam for Linux was a thing, hoping that I could play it through Wine (I was unsuccessful). Recently, the Director's Cut showed up in my Linux library with no download, and now with the Humble Indie Bundle I was hoping it would get its Linux Steam release, but it's not downloading anything at all.
