QUBE or QUBE: Director's Cut?
Should I play the original QUBE first, or is the Director's Cut an updated version that is meant as a replacement? Would I be missing anything (puzzles, story, etc.) if I hopped right into the Director's Cut? Just a bit confused on what the differences are I guess, so I know where to start.

You won't be missing anything if you jump straight into the Director's Cut. It is the definitive version with a story, voice acting, extra levels and the DLC included from Q.U.B.E.

Thanks!

Qube Director's Cut is the same game, but with a story added in, as the original QUBE was criticised for lacking that. You won't be missing anything if you go straight for the director's cut.

also the timed dlc thing is in director's cut without needing a dlc
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Guys, I love this game, but it was better without additional voice acting. And because of it the final in the original was much unexpected.

Can a dev confirm if this is correct, please?

The developer comment two comments above yours confirms it

Slimeh Frok claimed that "some other levels are removed" [from the Director's Cut].

But Toxic Games said "you won't be missing anything if you jump straight into the Director's Cut"

So was Slimeh Frok lying? :s
Directors cut greatly ruins the experience atleast for me, due to those talking parts feeling completely out of place. Thus I recommend original version to everyone.

The original had one of the best, longest most complex magnetic puzzles. It really felt like a great accomplishment to figure it out.

That puzzle, I believe the last of the straight up, magnetic puzzle is entirely gone from the Directors Cut.
Is the original even available anymore?
