I need a good strategy for Olmec.

I have got to Olmec in one run over 13 times and i die everytime. I either get crushed or his minions hit me and i then get crushed. I watched youtube videos but that has not helped me yet. Any particular way you guys do it consistently?

Do you have any bombs once you're there? If not, rope up above the Olmec fight and there'll be crates. Jump on his head afterwards and move him to the left or the right (doesn't matter which) and then bomb down on that original hole he did. Keep it the size it was orignally (5 blocks I think) and completely open that up, so it's 5 wide, then get him in there.

I've only gotten to him once, but what I did (at least on the 360 version, hopefully they haven't changed his AI) was just stand exactly one block to either side of him. He will only jump straight up and down very predictably. Run under him just enough to get him to pause in midair for his crush attack, which will cause him to break some blocks. While he's on the ground, see if you can climb over him and get him to make a slightly wider hole so you can lather, rinse, and repeat safely. It's hard to show without screenshots or video, but unfortunately, I haven't gotten to Olmec on my PC yet.

The fastest way to kill him requirs 2 ropes.
- Let him stomp on redhawk guy.
- When he does that keep running against him.
- You will run under him and he stomps.
- Run against him again and he stomps again.
- Now you should be at small place where he doesn't get you.
- Run against him again but this time when you about halfway under him, return back.
- Repeat that step multi times till he falls in lava. Just use first rope halfway and last one before his last stomp.

Climbing gloves are normally really annoying to have, though in Olmec's case they are incredibly useful as you can hang on to Olmec's side below his middle point and that will cause him to try and stomp, since you're hanging on to his side you will be protected from being crushed. Just make sure you don't make him stomp the same column more than twice cause that's a surefire way to trap yourself, get on top of him and direct him to a different spot instead.

BOMBS!! Get to Olmec with 15 bombs. Make a 3-4 wide hole all the way down. Then widen that hole slightly till its at least 5 blocks wide. Then lure him close to one of the edges and hang off it until Olmec ground pounds right beside it (jump away as he smashes) and it will line him up perfectly with he hole. The next time he jumps towards the hole he will fall in. Would like to make a video to show this technique but i do not know how.

I second the bomb strategy. Be sure to lure Olmec to a side and then run to the other side of the room. That way he won't bother you while you're digging your hole.
If you're low on bombs, keep in mind you may find more of them at the top of the room. You should be able to get up to the lowest row of platforms using just one rope.

A big advantage to the bomb strategy is that holes made by you will not spawn enemies. The less digging Olmec himself has to do, the lower the chance you'll be overwhelmed.
