Will this game have mod support in the future? Thats what made me keep playing the original spelunky.

Yeah but the main selling point for this game is to challenge people for the leaderboards, if you are invincible it will just be plain UNFAIR.

I want someone to mod Lemeza Kosugi as a playable character (the actual model from La Mulana remake).

Thats probobly copyright because reasons. Remember this is not the official people doing the modding. Its just that they said that its ok.

People mod character models from other games into...well...other games all the time. It's simply a sprite replacement, not used as a selling point, thus no money is made from that alone (though it might sway people I guess). No different really than Headcrabs appearing in Super Meat Boy, yet that was official (I'm sure it had permission).

If it's a huge issue though they can make a parody-type of it, just shift a few letters in the name around and make the character look almost identical - like a reference or nod to the amazing game that is La Mulana.

Plus dude. Theyre still gona have the whip. It takes alot of work to mod something. Even to make a character it takes a lot of work. I'ts probobly just going to reskin characters into new ones.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with that.

Sprites are not that difficult, I've done MANY. Lemeza Kosugi also uses a whip, and pretty much looks like a less cartoony version of the starting character anyway - like I said it could just be a nod to the character/game.

Anyway I think it would be pretty sweet.

Tastes like Spelunky was the best Spelunky mod. It would be nice if Workshop support was added and this mod appears.
