Lost my jetpack after resurrection. A glitch?

I had the ankh and a jetpack strapped on my back. I also had a shotgun in my hands. I got killed prematurely by a falling ice platform. It hit me in mid-air and I died instantly, got resurrected to the stage entrance without my jetpack!

I read that the jetpack can explode if it's crushed, and I would like it confirmed if that reaction can trigger when it's already equipped. Could the falling platform have caused it to explode? If so, that's okay. Just another thing to remember. But if not, I should probably report that this happened so that it can be fixed. I've never been resurrected without my jetpack before.

I don't remember if there was an explosion or if my health was low when I died. However, the shotgun remained at the point where I was killed in mid-air. I couldn't interact with it in any way, though.

Clarification on any of these point would be much appreciated. Thank you!

It's normal you just need to find your jetpack back. It doesn't appear with you when you resurrect, it stays on the place you died.

You always resurrect with it on you inside the moai head, though

Losing a jetpack like that is normal. If you die from getting crushed, the jetpack explodes, and you'll respawn without it if you resurrect with the ankh. If you die pretty much any other way, you'll still have your jetpack when you respawn in the Moai head.

The shotgun thing seems like an odd bug, though.

Also if you kill yourself by holding onto a falling platform and you land in the abyss it can instantly kill you after you respawn in the Moai head. So just stay away from falling platforms in the ice caves entirely....
