The Worst Thing About Spelunky

The worst thing I've found about Spelunky is not the soul-crushing difficulty, the unfairness, the game cheating, the superman shopkeepers, the arrow traps that shoot you almost before you can see them, the climbing gloves that kill you more than they help, the scorpions, the spiders, the bats..... All that I can handle and take in my stride.

No, the thing that I find worst about Spelunky is the look on the pug's face after it dies; it gets me every time. It doesn't even look dead; just sad and slightly accusatory. I mean, it's not my fault it's being held hostage by an insane old man who would rather shoot it than let me walk off with it. It's not my fault it gets itself trapped behind explosive crates. And it's not my fault the little idiot goes and wanders off the nearest ledge the instant my back is turned. Ok, granted, it is occasionally my fault when something nasty befalls the little canine fella; but most of the time it's not my fault at all.

So why do you look at me like that puppy? WHY? IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!!

Those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are trying to make a living and of course they're going to go superman after someone has put a pile of lead in their faceholes. And almost all of the mishaps are your fault, except for a few times.

Oh god, the spikes! No, not the spikes! Watching that poor puppy slowly slide down, leaving a trail of blood; that's the stuff of nightmares.

You're right though, he does make a good weapon, and a pretty decent pot-smasher.

Only thing I really hate that pisses me off is when I get hit because the stupid hud is in the way. It is way too big when death comes so quickly from every direction. About the puppy, hmm you can change the damsel, maybe the other two characters deaths are less dramatic for some.

Lol, mostly true. But when your in the forest, and a red frog gets killed by a spike trap, which pushes it into a shop, which explodes the shop, which sets off the shopkeeper... How is THAT the players fault? :P Just saying.
