Continue vs. Quick Restart

I completed 1-4 Mines, gave the Tunnel Man w/e he needed, I died in the first level of the Jungle, chose Continue and it put me back to 1-1 in the Mines, this also applies on Quick Restart, I don't see any difference.

Continue puts you back in the lobby. Quick restarts starts a new game at 1-1.

Quick restart doesn't do anything until you use shortcuts.

Quick restart puts you at your spawn point, so for example say you used a shortcut to the jungle, quick restart puts you at 1-1. Also its in the name, quick restart is faster, while continue puts you in the lobby.
