Spelunky classic did start without a level editor, but was soon updated to have one.
It did work in a sense that you only unlocked tiles based on how far you've gotten in the game
We started work on it last year when playing Spelunky HD deathmatch was popular with our friends.
It would work for the multiplayer arenas as the actuall game maps are randomly generated (although they do have rules and patterns its hard too identify)
Should work on any version of Spelunky HD.
Need a way too skip intro scene to get straight into game/deathmatch too test maps.
Made with Node Webkit.
The version of it I have on this computer is a bit broken got too get the new code from him at some point.
Maps can be shared in text based format easy too read once you understand the characters. Or as an entire JSON package able to be imported and loaded into your game.
Shall be able to be renamed too.
Would anyone be interested in this being an open source project?
Example of (old) user interface a new one has been worked on as we were having problems figureing out the big tiles from small ones.

Due to some bugs in the older code I had the saving is a bit borked

We have gathered some information from a lot of trial and error on what kinds of blocks there are but there could be more.
