No Anubis spawn on 4-1...?
I've never had that happen before. I checked the whole level and couldn't find his scepter as though he had been killed. Can he get crushed off screen by a crusher which would also destroy his staff? Or can one of those crocodile douches kill him accidentally? One of those guys was jumping around like he was on crank when I entered the level. Either way, no city of gold for me. Thoughts?

He probably died to a tiki trap and dropped the scepter in a pool of lava.

Possibly it got crushed or as Ladez said, it could have fallen into lava. The Scepter can survive in lava, so if there is some around, you should bomb the base of it to check.

Yeah this is probably the case. If you have a boatload of bombs you can always try draining all the lava but if he got crushed by a thwomps you are S.O.L. welcome to Spelunky :resmile:
