I've tried this, I beleive you put this in another thread as well. All it did was make my resolution go to 640 by 480 or some terrible resolution like that.
No, I put it only in your thread. :-)
This the game.cfg from my system (where 1920x1080 is working). I did not have to edit it. These values were set by the game itself.
What have been the X and Y values for your game.cfg before you changed it?
Did they stay at 1920 and 1080 AFTER you have started it and it looked like crap?
Another tip: if you have multiple display connectors on your video card. Take the one which is described as DISPLAY PORT 1.
Disable all other display ports. Go to your windows resolutions settings, check if ONLY display 1 is active and your primary output for your desktop.
If you have a second cable (e.g. HDMI, DVI, VGA) put it in you video card then pull it out.
Be sure that your game.cfg is correct (maybe you could write-protect it) and then start over again.
If you are IN the game, press ESC, then video settings, then advanced, and at the first setting press RIGHT on you keyboard. You should go up to the maximum video card resolution setting.
If this does not help. Hmmm... the PS3 version will be not as shiny and will only run with roughly 30fps. So I would not recommend it. The same has been with LoS1. The PC version is much better, although I played through the PS3 version :-)
I have no problems reaching resolutions up to and beyond 3200x1800 and my monitor is only a 1600x900 monitor
I tried this, and it made the game stretch to fit the screen but the display in the menu had again defaulted to the lowest supported resolution making the game look awful. I've tried everything. Hell I even uninstalled reseated and reinstalled my card but to no avail. I've put way more effort into trying to make this game work than I should. The only thing that would get me to buy is if I knew for sure the full game wouldn't do this. Something is amiss. LoS1 along with my entire library has no problem displaying at 1080p.
Forgive me if I'm misreading this but are you saying that what I'm saying is crap?
If so why would I make this up?
Set that manually in AMD control center
Thanks a lot! This solved my issue of not being able to select 1920x1080 in the options menu without it crashing to desktop. I can also alt+tab now.
