Do you need to have played Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 1 to get everything going on in this game?
Hey everyone,

I just started playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 1 and am really excited for part 2, but don't think that i'll be finished in time for it's release. I was wondering if there are critical story elements that are required knowledge to start part 2.

Thanks!

I would really finish the first game and its story DLC.

Absolutely yes. You have to play all LOS1, the ending is important and so is the scene after the credits. Play Los 2 only when you have finished LOS1.
u should be able to finish in 2 weeks i just beat it over the course of last week and am doing the last chapter of DLC now. i had beat it on xbox a year or more ago tho but without the DLC.

yes the story matters a lot, the whole point of these 2 games is showing the backstory behind who/why/how things came to be the way they are

Yes. otherwise you'll start off questioning the main characters changes. I kind of figure for every game you play, you'd need to have played it's previous installments to know; unless it's THe Elder scrolls from Bethesda or True Crimes, Tomb Raider, and Final Fantasy from Square. in fact, mostly all games published by Square Enix seem to be playable to their own regards now that I think on it...

Awesome... Thanks everyone!
oh one reason why it appears like it will take a longtime to beat is that you see so many chapters in the book. a lot of those chapters are single boss battles or short sections that dont take as long as some of the other more involved chapters.
Just research the game and mythologies of the LOS games before LOS2 if you want to get caught up. I don't think it will ruin the actually fun of the gameplay that much. I researched it while I was playing LOS and if did not even deter my replay value :)

it is not a prequel. it covers events after LOS1 set in both modern day and the past but its all after LOS1

thanks PIRATEorNINJA,the way i read it on evil, was that it was a prequel to LOS2.deffently play through it then.

wait were you asking if LOS2 was a prequel to something or if Mirrors of fate was a prequel to LOS2?
your orginal question seemed to ask if LOS2 was a prequel and it isnt.

but if you are asking if Mirrors is a prequel then yes it is a prequel to LOS2.

the order would be LOS1>Mirrors>LOS2

(The demo acts as a prelude to the full game) is what i read, sorry prequil wasn't the right word to use.i was reffering to just LOS2.and the demo itself.
ah ok i beleive the demo is like the tutorial for the main game. so it should be part of /included in the main game if i am not mistaken. otherwise it would kinda of make ppl that skip the demo miss out

Yes. Pray for a PC port or if you can, play it on ps3/360 because it ties a lot of stuff together in between 1 and 2. Plus it's cheap for a good 15-20 hour game.
