and how do i get to this? https://i.imgur.com/iMWQOZv.png

also whats the boxes that're filling upi when i leave/fail levels? so much not explained bro
You just have to take your time and you can understand the flow of the game. When you are sitting on a node you can see lines flow in the directions that you can go. Click in that direction and you will follow the line. There are many places to discover that I missed until I saw that feature. I enjoyed exploring, it is apart of the beautiful environment in this game. Changing it to a basic 1,2,3 layout would ruin the beauty of the over world map.

That picture you will find an answer to later as you play and learn the mechanics. It frustrated me too when I first saw it, haha.

The boxes you see filing up are the cardinals in the game that you can equip on your ship before going into the level. Each level has their own unique cardinal that will be unlocked after defeating so many levels on the map. You can see the amount left before you unlock it at the top left of the screen before going into the level.

It is a wonderful game in the making! I understand your frustration on it as I had the same thoughts early on until I took time to understand it.

It's one of those games where your expectations don't meet the product offered. You think it'll be a series of maps that you must succeed on before moving on to the next, unlocking new abilities. Instead it's a brutally hard tower defence and mood-game with unique art that is meant to be enjoyed over time, with puzzle-like solutions to a lot of maps. You are rewarded for clearing waves, not for clearing levels. As you do, you unlock more abilities that may give you success elsewhere, and there are also other characters to play as with very different mechanics that may perform better in certain situations. Seek progress in your defeats, is how I'd sum it up!

As for the picture, I'm still not 100% sure on how to get to the red ore, but I've cleared at least 25 waves on that one without it, so there are solutions to the puzzle.
