Chapter Three Medallion/Symbol Glitch

Ok, so i found all of the four symbols and it even say i got 4/4. It tells me to go to the podium but only three out of the four symbols are lit up. The third wheel isnt working. So i tried to just match it with all of the different symbols for the third one, but it didnt work. Please help. Idk what to do. =/

Ok, i fixed it by myself. The first and last ones are correct. But the third and second ones are wrong. Its a graphic glitch. Just put the second and third ones in random ways. I would say the order i put it in but i didnt get to look at it before the door opened.

I'm having this exact problem and trying random combinations isn't getting me anywhere.. This also seems to be the only time anyone else has experienced it as I haven't found any other topics online on the subject :-/

You've looked through the peep holes and seen all 4 symbols and they still don't show up at the podium?

Yes turned out it was a graphics glitch messing with the visuals on the medallion. It fixed itself after restarting the game like five or six times.

I found it on one of hte talks here, u update the video driver (i uninstall/reinstalled mine), replayed it from scratch (that chapter only!) and it worked! only when I went to play it again (get more $ n unlock more options) it did it again. :(

So since I had done above already I then changed the settings from what u have to 800x600 BEFORE hitting play to load into Thief n changed the settings to low, hit play n let the game load up to the next menu screen befrore clicking on my saved game I changed my graphics back to what it was and it worked! The only thing that i did differently is I went from double buffer to triple buffer for vsync. (ironiclly I went to confirm what I changed when I was putting this down and found out that my settings were still at low but everything else was changed-I don't know if that will make a difference or not)

I am having the same problem and have tried everything but nothing works i seeem to be stuck at the podium will have to try random selections or loading and unloading the game i have just watched a video where they do not go to any of the peephole points just turn the dial fit it in the podium and the door opens.Here goes.

Mine fixed itself by restarting the game a few times so good luck!

I was having the same problem. The third ring (going from the center) wasn't lit. I could see the correct symbol and put it in line but it still wouldn't work. I tried updating drivers and restarting in different resolutions without success. Upon closer inspection, it turns out the second ring was lighting on the wrong symbol! I lined up the correct one (two spaces to the right) and "open sesame"!

I have the same problem. The glitch is in recording the seeing of the symbol in the nearest room to the right of the podium, where the girl murders the client.
The symbol opposite the podium lights up the outer ring. The room above should light up the next ring, but doesn't. The other two light up the inner rings in proximity order.
But the second largest ring doesn't light up. The game says 4/4 plase the ring on the podium, btu there is no solution as the puzzle is incomplete. This is one I can't get past, and has ruined the game basically. No problem on my last machine, but on my Dell it is impossible,

I have the same problem. The computer counts up 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4.4, then says place the medallion on the podium, but when I get there, only 3 rings are lit. The second one in is not. I have worked out which symbol lights which ring. The one nearest the medallion lights the outer ring. When facing the podium, the room on the right should light the second ring in. But it doesn't. I downloaded this game from Steam, and I simply can't get past this problem. When you contact Steam support, all the complaints and responses are computerised. They don't have an option for complaining that their program has a glitch. That they are selling products that don't work.
I have tried playing with the screen resolution, the order of collection, and finally random alignment of the rings, but I get nowhere.
OK it was about £3.00, so I had 3 chapters of fun, but there should be many more, and there aren't.
Out of interest, has everyone who's having trouble downloaded the game from Steam? I bought a copy years ago which I lost, but it had no such glitch.

im having the same problem, nothing i have done works. is there a solution? install and re-enstall...reset all resolutions, displays, {LINK REMOVED}graphics...in every combinations, nothing works. but nobody has mentioned that the symbols on the medalion are just blocked blue colour? but the all same problems. don't matter what i do nothing works.

I had the same problem. I've played the game 3 times in three different pc's. Never even heard of this glitch until now on my brand new pc. What did I do? Well, I had luck. Some of you said that the middle ring may highlight the wrong symbol so I've simply turned it once and, voila, it work, lucky shot.
