Chapter 3: Dirty Secrets Rope Bug

I got to the end of the level, where you have to escape the ancient ruins. In the room where there is a single guard with a torch, you're supposed to jump on the boxes behind him and climb a rope. However, in my game this rope isn't there, so I can't progress any further. Reloading the save didn't help.
I'm loving the game so far, but this is a really annoying bug.

no bug or glitch
you have 2 crates in that room
jump on them and from them to the rope

Did you not read what they're saying? The ropes aren't there. As in THERE ISN'T ANY ROPES IN THE ROOM.
If you have rope arrows you can use those, but otherwise you're screwed.

Similar problem for me. I've the 3 ropes, but when i try to climb them, the game crashed! Any solution besides restarting the mission?
Edit// Second try...just looking the robes is enough to crash!

i wish i had done some more research. if i had known about this bug before hand i wouldn't have bothered buying this game. I can't believe this game has been out for 10 months and the developers never even addressed this issue, let alone fixed it.

Eidos Montreal's reputation really went down the gutter with this game.

I had the same issue. Threw myself off some stairs and when the checkpoint reloaded I could finally climb the ropes.
