its really not terrible though, its certainly can be immersive, and 1 play through even with all cutscenes skipped, even if you pursue no secrets at all, should last atleast 6- 8 hours.
im glad you atleast hate it on its own merits and dont just constantly compare it to the originals as if they hold up any better in 2014.
At least this one seems to actually own the game. That's almost refreshing! :D
so you think this game is a masterpeice? i dont see how judging just this game as a standalone can result in a psositive review
Because people are allowed to have different opinions?
This game is not about fighting, this whole game is stealth. Even in the older ones you would be made to hide in the shadows because this isnt a run around and stab people kind of game, it is a hide in the shadows and be as quiet as a field mouse kind of game. And for the graphics who really cares if you want to push it to 1080 p be my guest i don't feel like slowly destroying my retnas.
masterpeice? who wrote something about a masterpeice? Theif is a masterpeice?
i wont argue about that.
but this game is certainly not BAD. and isnt deserving of 1 tenth of the hate it garners.
when i first started playing it it all seemed very linear and boxed in.
after a few chapters and really learning what to look for and how to get around, i find that its actually NOT linear, and there are all kinds of paths and different ways of going about stuff.
You've never been in a dark school after closing hours.
You've never been hiding in the dark city streets running for your life or possessions.
If you had. You would have noticed that you don't glide above the ground like a hovercraft.
Which you definately don't in Thief.
If you had. You would notice that if someone you don't want to, would have you caught.
Would beat you up or get you into serious trouble.
Which you definately do in Thief. Since you're incapable of running as seems according to your tragic little review where you can't fight off your "enemies".
Have you ever been on the roof of an over 5 meter building and jumped down?
You should try it.
You'd notice that the landing wasn't smooth. Or that you didn't quite manage to run off instantly if you tried. You wouln't jump down, you would propably try and teleport down because you can.
Dishonored graphics wise is cartoony.
You like cartoons, according to you behavior towards Thief and Dishonored
That's why you're easily set off by Thief's more realistic and darker graphics.
Your definition of stealth is that as long as you don't want to be seen. You won't be.
You can always teleport up to a rooftop from anywhere. Or across the street. Or if nothing else is left. You can simply dive into the horrible guard and possess him and get into safety as said guard. Or simply whip your wrist and see him get knocked through your incredible brutal strength and guts.
Which isn't realistic and can't be called true subtlety.
All this is impossible in Thief. You're no one special in Thief, weaker than your average guard.
You have to stay in the dark corners and shadows at all times because the guards are more realistic and even flip 360 degrees just to make sure no ones behind them while patrolling.
this pisses you off. To be no one special.
You're propably one of those guys that whine about Outlast and Amnesia.
"This game sucks so bad you can't beat the crap out of the enemy who the ♥♥♥♥ plays this."
But yes. You're right. Battlefield 3 must suck for those that play Call of Duty.
Must suck to be you coming straight from a Ballerina Ninja Commando Gray Fox game to a mediocre sneakthief game.
