I don't mind his corset either, it looks cool, it just isn't very necessary unlike other stuff he has - that other stuff is his tools and bags for loot.
I thought about buying the Master Thief edition but I don't really care about digital artbooks cause you can just find the pictures online usually. Though now I'd like to upgrade cause of the comic books :( I bought the Thief companion app but I get "Not enough storage space" bug and no amount of cache wipes can fix that :|
Hahaha, I was walking with my friend through the main street of our city, saw a plaque on a bank building and immediately wanted to steal it :D And I try to sneak behind people only to remind myself that I'm wearing winter boots and it won't work, lol.
pls
stahp
you're making me horny
I'm innocent! Nicze started it, see:
It's all Stephen Russell's fault after all :P
Btw his bed is so dirty, eww.
Hahaha :D I remember after playing Assassin's Creed I was walking around town and assessing which buildings are climbable, lol.
Blame Garrett's character designer!
Especially that line
When I saw this new Garret's concept, first thing I noticeded was this corset thing. I must say, that in the past gentelmen wore corsets at everyday basis, for slim and manly silhouette. Still, his corset is totally useless. And about his hair-i saw some concepts without hood, and his hair was short and very dark.
Erin started to annoy me from the very first moment when she opened her mouth. After watching trailers, I decided, that they were a couple before, and all her naughty and brazen voice intonations only made me more convinced. My opinion is: they changed plot so many taffing times, that some bits of it remained in the last version, where she is not his girlfriend, but only wayward student.
Why no one is bothered by the fact that he lives in tower?! Of course, no one in the City mentions lights and shadowy figure running back and forth)
I must be very tired, but I can't stop laughing like an idiot at the thought of Garrett just running back and forth in front of the windows, while manically arranging his collectibles over and over again. Then always walking on the streets, somewhere at the distance you could just hear him go creepily "nyahahaa", resonating all over the midnight city.
I hope I'll find these concepts one day! So curious:)
Funny, I never could imagine Garrett could have a girlfriend:) He is cool, manly, and stuff, but... it just can't be. Even if they were planning to make her his girlfriend, I'm so glad that they didn't.
I think she well might be in love with him. His pictures are all over her home, and his portrait staring right at her bed. Yes, she is admiring him, but it easily can be more than admiration. Hell, every normal girl would be in love with such a mentor! But he wouldn't let her any closer:P
I think, they believe he is a ghost of the tower's engineer, who was crashed by his gears. This legend was in a newspaper. A very handy legend - explains lights and shadowy figure, and keeps citizens away. By the way, he IS the tower's enineer to some extent, as he is looking after the clocks.
Both the game and the supplementary materials make it pretty clear that she's been dealt a really bad hand for life. Pretty much every encounter she has with other people has taught her that they only want to use her or hurt her, so she's decided to return the favor. Basso seems to be the first person she met who helped her without wanting something from her in return (based on the comic).
Though I don't mean to imply that it's morally alright that she murders people, because it isn't. But it's easy to see why her first reaction to threats or perceived threats is violence. Further I find it a little funny (and not funny "ha, ha") that Erin receives so much criticism for being a murderer when Mr. You-Could-Float-A-Whaling-Ship-On-The-Highborn-Blood-I've-Spilled Daud from Dishonored was so popular they made two DLC's about his character. (This is not intended to be directed at anyone in this thread, it's just something I've seen around a lot.)
Some of this of course is 'cause of some really bad writing decisions.
"Quick, you have five minutes to make your audience like a character enough to care what happens to them! What do you do?"
"I know! I'll make them boastful and impulsive the whole time they are on screen!"
Really, can we just retire the whole 'Damsel in Distress' thing? It's trite and it's generally just lazy writing because you can be bothered to think of a more interesting way to set the plot in motion.
...aaand, rant done. Tldr - But she's had a deprived childhood!
Also, I've heard it suggested that Garrett's 'corset' is a climbing harness, which makes as much sense as anything else I've heard so, works for me.
We all should praise all gods for that kind of users mostly don't visit english speaking forums, they usually can't formulate a simple sentence in a foreign language.
I'm sorry for offtop, just want to thank you all :D
For my taste, Erin is not a very pretty girl, and it doesn't help her, she does not awake a desire to sympathize her. She just fall a victim of screenwriters laziness, just as angelab said
This is a real shame! A large part of her story is presented in official Dark Horse Comic, and those, who hadn't ordered game edition with it ( I don' remeber, how it's called), have got only a faint glimpse of her character.
I hope if she would take part in sequel, writers are going to be more attentive and show us all her verges.
Yep, I've read this newspaper. But my imagination makes me a bad favor: I've imagined, how Garrett tries to bring his bed and other furniture to the tower) You might argue me and say, that he could just made all furniture from construction materials and IKEA catalog, but it is still funny to imagine Garrett, running on the rooftops with a bunch of wooden planks.
In Deadly Shadows, when old Garrett had visited Clock Tower, it was maintained by, at least, 20 people, and used a great deal of coal. Of course, new tower must have impoved mechanism, but it's still hard to believe that Garrett could handle it alone, and steal all that enormous amount of coal)

You should take a look at other pages about thief from this site, they contain interesting art too :D
If you want to read about corsets for men, there is an article. It is written in russian, but nice guy Google Chrome would ask you to translate it, so make him happy, let him do so!

There are some good pictures and history of corsets for gentelmen.
I thought his corset is useless, 'cause rope, that attaches to it, with the same success could be attached to his belt; and it provides a little defence. Though, i haven't noticed that his bow is fastened to corset) Shoulder pad - old Garrett wore them too, without any straps to his chest.
My friends, who saw that image, http://cdn.eidosinteractive.com/mtl/marketing/Community/Blog/Thief/Harness.jpg
ALL decided that is some part of bdsm outfit :D
It would be so stressful to him to move to some other place with all this shiny stuff and showcases!
And that "Garrett I'm slipping" over and over. She was a lost cause, so just let her die.
