The only game I have seen so far that was true to their word about pre-order DLC being exclusive is PayDay 2.
They had a pre-order bonus of a loot bag and they have not made that or the "collector's edtion" DLC public.
Every other game I have seen has released their pre-order DLC for purchase at some point.
Don't make the BS pre-order DLC your deciding factor for pre-ordering a game.
And if in the ridiculously low chance that it doesn't get released a nice little download online will unlock it because its usually on disk, or it will be purchasable at some point.
I have a lot of games and some were pre-ordered and some wheren't.
A lot of the games get pushed that if you pre-order or buy early you will get some sort of exclusive content for it.
Last time I checked what exclusive was, there publishers aren't holding their word to it.
I don't care really just going on with the conversation, I pre-ordered maybe 4 months ago with a 30% off so I'm happy.
Why should what other people have or don't have make difference to you? Have fun with your mission, you have it as a bonus. Other people can buy it and have fun as well. What's sad about that?
That's on your end. On the publisher's end, the bonus content offer makes the preorder more attractive to users and that increases a chance of more preorders and sales. On the developer's side, having worked on an exclusive mission means a very small percentage of the players will enjoy and appreciate it. When you make it available, more people see your work.
Only indy devs would actually not sell their pre order bonus.
How this is a bad thing I will never understand, you just sound selfish to me.
I hate when DLC is permanently exclusive. It's fine if it's temporarily exclusive (Dishonored released all the pre-order goodies in a separate, buyable DLC pack many months after the game's release - which is fine), but to permanently deny other people who also buy the game is a bit rubbish. It can be argued that late buyers of Thief are taking a worse risk than us pre-orderers because of all the not so great reviews it's received.
edit - basically what mr whippet said
This makes no sense.
How can you argue that?
We got this game with 0 reviews/videos ...
They get to check those and decide for themselves.
I dont regret buying this game , but there is no way buying it after launch , where all the info is avaiable , is more of a risk than getting the pre order.
