Anyone else having a constant buzz in the audio, really quiet?
For me it's only on the left side (headphone, dunno from where when I go speakers).
When I press escape to pause, the sound disappears, and I only this have annoying little buzzing in this specific game. I've been messing around in the sound options but there's not much to do there really, and what little there is did not affect the issue.
It's rapidly growing quite annoying...

Anyone? :o

Not really, I have noticed a lot of other audio anomalies though.

Lol.. I think I finally found it. I feel kinda silly.
It's those damn lights in the game. Some of the mechanical lights gives out this damn sound.
But only some of them.. like the ones that are single lamps hanging down outside of some buildings here and there, in a metal casing. Wonder if that's intentional or a bug...

Hehe I also hear the annoying buzzing sound and couldn't figure it out myself either. I think you are right and that it is the lights, but it is really annoying and loud! On my system the buzz is reduced when I turn off my "Dolby Home Theater" enhancement, but it seems to make the rest of the game too quiet too. Can't win :(

Yes, those lights are annoying. Had heard them dozens of times and didn't connect the two that you might be referring to them. Poor choice of ambient noise for those, I think.

For me, that buzzing sound sometimes gets stuck looping on the background, no matter were you on a loading screen or ingame, in a dark corner without any light sources nearby. Usually reloading a save or restarting the whole game fixes the issue though, but it's annoying.

So maybe they're triggering like the audio dialogue and repeating as well? That would be a huge pain, almost as bad as the looping dialogue that follows you everywhere.

Yeah I think you're right, it seems to follow me around too. I tried restarting but still there for me. Then a cutscene kicked in, and afterwards, it was gone.... phew :) Hopefully doesn't come back.

I recently bought a new fan that makes a buzzing sound (not defective though) at certain speeds and had to set up a custom curve to bypass the issue. That alone took a few weeks, lots of trials and errors, you know the gig...

Enter Thief (2014) and I suddenly started to hear the exact same annoying buzzing noise during safe speeds (!!!).
Until I realize the noise weirdly stopped in the Pause Menu...? After a quick Google search here I am, amazed and relieved that other people had the same situation lol.

Story's lesson: Never refrain from sharing things on forums, you never know if (or when) that will end up helping someone 10 years later :lunar2019piginablanket:.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
