Extremely Boring and Very Easy
The title pretty much sums the game up. You press a few buttons and before you know it you beat the game. Not worth the price tag.

Let me Guess, ya played it on Normal.

To my suprise on the highest dificulty. I could literally walk past people without them even raising a brow.
What I do know is that I DO own it and I literally played the tutorial and haven't felt the desire to run the game again since. I sit here now debating if it's worth the effort to double click that icon, and my only real motivation to do so is that I spent $50 and I need to TRY to let it grow on me, but I'm doubting that will happen. It just seems boring... then I got that dash ability and I had to minimize the game to make sure it said I was playing Thief and not Dishonored.

I recommend playing it till at least after the brothel level. It changes tone and it's like different designers/writers took over at that point. Honestly, the first 3 Chapters just wouldn't have sold me on the game. Now, I can't stop playing it, and I was just as hopeless as you that it wouldn't amount to anything. I take no credit for the ending though; I've heard it's abysmal. NOT my fault. ;-)

But yeah why are you on a steam forum whining about a game if you don't have it on steam? It seems like you ought to talk about it somewhere else.

Also people are getting really sick of the butthurt whining of people with surgically affixed nostalgia goggles who don't realise that half of the faults they attribute to this game were mostly present in the first three games. Thief 2 was the only one with decent sized enviroments and even those were pretty empty, and putting rope arrows in every place isn't that helpful when there are only really like maybe 3 places in a level where they actually are useful.

Having said that I am getting tired of the you got caught for the 20th time by the taffing thief taking general because of plot, it makes Garrett look like an amateur.

Also even more annoying than the old school eltists are the right out and out trolls who haven't even played the game and are whining.... then again that overlapes a great deal with the former too.

Honestly I can't understand why people whine on forums of games they don't like. I generally haven't liked Call of Duty for years. So I don't buy them, and I don't talk about them. Do I wish they'd stop wasting money on them and make better games? Yes but my own voice isn't going to do crap so I don't go shouting myself hoarse over the perceived injustice of it all.

Thief 1 had some stupidly big areas, and I do mean stupidly. Thieves Guild mainly so far but bonehoard was pretty bad too and Lost City is shaping up to be similarly bad.

Except you have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ map which only labels one of the two objectives and even then only vaguely and the entire place is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ labrinth (thieves guild).

There's a difference between being able to choose how you approach something and being forced to wander around lost for an hour or two.

Like seriously I think that place would be hard to navigate even without the 50 or so guards.

Mage Towers much more enjoyable.

Oh I remember. No handholding in those whatsoever. I don't envy anyone having to learn how to navigate something like that if they haven't done it before. You'll make it though, I'm sure. I've got a Thief Gold printed walkthrough manual somewhere, if I could find it, that is. One of the few walkthrough manuals I ever bought. Then they started showing up online for free, except there's nothing quite like a printed book for stuff like that. Good luck, taffer.
Thanks for your useless feedback.

you didn't reply to anyone so we have no idea who you are talking to, so the natural assumption is that you mean the person above you.

"next time learn what the reply feature is."

If I was replying to him, I would have used the reply feature. Instead, I was replying to the actual post, not the random arguement going on in the section below.

"The title pretty much sums the game up. You press a few buttons and before you know it you beat the game. Not worth the price tag."

Thats who Im talking to.
^Probably should have quoted that then.

Learn how to communicate without name calling. At least learn to respond as if you're more than 8 years old.
