Talking Candles Guide (WIP)

Just finished scouring the city for the Talking Candles in the hopes that something would unlock. I've seen several other discussions on this but no one had gotten quite so many it seems. I had hoped 24 would be the magic number but, alas, no such luck.

Please check out my guide section on the Talking Candles, and please let me know if you found any that i didnt. As of my last game run, the candles are still lit, so I'm hoping if that more are found some cool secret will be revealed!

One in baron's way south. Standing where the archer is in the guard tower and looking toward the stonemarket entrance theres a cage on a crate next to a window. the candle is to the right and slightly behind the cage. Hard one to spot.

Thanks! In the meantime I found 2 others, so this puts the total at 27 as of the time I'm writing this. Unfortunately nothing noticeable has happened yet :\

I'm actually up to #30 and going to that location I see that I did light it so it must be on my list somewhere. I'll double check.

Turns out my #16 was a duplicate of #15 and I also inadvertantly left the one you mention out. It is now #20, so my number still stands at 30. Thanks for the heads up though!

I think you are missing one I found in market street. If you take the tunnel to the vendor guy and then take the other tunnel out I am pretty sure there is one after you climb up the ladder? Maybe even one more other than that...I'll check my screen shots. Only have the candles and maybe the mini map in them, though, so might be hard to know final locations.

Okay you actually have that one but it is on baron's way instead of market street. I am still confused by the map in this game. On an unrelated note....how did you get off street level on market street (pic 18)?

Honestly I have no idea lol. I did a lot of climbing and crawling while hunting these things down. As a general guideline, if an area seems unreachable there is either a rope arrow anchor point down the way that you have to climb up or the area is reached by starting on a different map instance. Now that I look at that one more closely though, I believe there is a place to climb up directly behind where I am standing.

What I'm looking for now -- i believe -- is the actual Wax Witch. That's my guess. The last words spoken by a candle were "She's waiting" and i don't think that is one of the lines that was repeated like "Pain" "Thank you" "Freedom" etc. I stopped looking after 30 candles because something different was finally said and 30 seemed like a nice round number, plus I simply can't find any more candles. One or two candles said something like "Altar" or "The Altar". I also heard "Muddler's Row" but i think that's just a clue to find the poem and diary. Both of those documents mention Blood as a required ingredient, and the poem specifically mentions pig's ("swine's") blood. So what does all this add up to. I am guessing that there will be some interaction or maybe even a fight with the Wax Witch herself, but if so, where is she?

Any suggestions on where I should look? My first hunch was the graveyard, with the thought that maybe the Queen of Beggars was the woman all along, but nothing happened there. Any other thoughts?

Very interesting...I'm going to start using your guide as I'm curious as to what's going on. A google search of the internet turned up nothing, really, so EM has really kept this under wraps it seems and you're the only bunch working diligently at it and reporting your progress, as far as I can tell. Kudos on all the hard work this must have been.... I have found zero so far. Not really trying hard or anything, but I would've thought I'd at least have seen one by now. Sheesh. :-P

I am up to 35 candles! If my information is correct, I only need to find ONE more candle! please check out my list and i will be adding a few maps with the current 35 locations marked to make tracking these easier. Let's solve this thing!
