Chapter 3...Help?

After hitting a wall when I reached the podium puzzle I decided to give google a try and it says the symbols on the medallion light up after finding the symbols in the rooms. One problem with that though, the symbols on my medallion did not light up in the way the walkthrough showed...

there are two podiums. One podium's clues are located in the peepholes to the brothel. The other podiums clues are in the short hall leading to the podium. Access these by using focus in each of the 4 alcoves. Once you have looked through each of the peepholes and found the clue inside the symbols on the rings will light up. They will also light up when you discover the second set of symbols as I mentioned above.

Turn SSAA off, it interfers with seeing symbols like these.

tbh I fixed this by guessing the combo assuming some of the ones lit up were right, but thanks for the answers

If that doesn't work, open the Thief launch window (don't start the game) and go to Settings. Set the resolution to 800 x 600 and preset the graphics options to "Very Low." Then start the game, and change the resolution and settings back to what they normally are.

How did you disengage from the peep hole? My Garret is stuck requiring me to reload a save.
