The Map Sucks...
Did these devs ever think about the map? i'm trying to get back to the hideout to heal and its so frustrating going around in circles and load screen leading to the same map but seperated, christ, not even an index or tags to know how to get to the other zones.

I agree, and the wayfinder is a pile of burrick dung. The taffing thing's given me "0 to destination" when I'm in the wrong place.

Haha funny, there ain't a map to read... just a blueprint of a city that makes 0 sense with no markers or direction and no path as they are layed upon eachother in a cluster mess.

Actually, I use the minimap because the wayfinder sucks.

yeah the waypoints really screw you over. the map is negotiable i think, but i have terrible memorization so i have to refer to it often.

i wish the nav system was like fc2 actually. more immersive & would be a lot faster, easier & fluid as well.

To be fair, the game is set in a kinda dark age, not digital age. Your lucky it isn't all like those drawn smuggler maps you find ingame. Its just a layered map, easy once you get used to it.
I'd actually like those vague maps. But even they had "you are in this general area".

My only complaint about the map is that the mission waypoints/starting spots dissapear from the map once you complete the mission. So if you want to replay one later you have to remember where it is and how to get there.

They should have a symbol for the completed missions on the map so it would be easier to find them again.

I have to be honest, it took me a while to find the first two smuggler locations looking at those maps. Trying to fit the SM to the game map had me running all over. But in fairness, it didnt annoy me, it just made the search more interesting.

FC2 had a cheap paper met that your character would flick outin real time. it could be exapnded & constricted on areas at will. felt natural, kept you entirely in game & was realistic & simple. really think that kinda thing wouldve been a big upgrade here, having g arret actually looking at paper maps ingame as opposed to pausing & looking on the digimap, or minimap.

Your right, that would have been a nice touch. It would have added a lot of immersion to the game. But all my point is, is that the current map, while open to improvement, isnt all that bad, imo anyway ^^

i need to get to the clocktower, im at the tavern/inn where the f do i go? theres no mark ont he edge of the map saying to the clocktower district, there sno exit icon showing this leads to the next map, ther eis nothing... the border just looks like a dead end.
Which tavern/inn? At the risk of sounding a bit mean, look around you. Pay more attention to the places you have passed and you'll remember where you are and how to get places.

This is the trouble with the consolisation and dumbing down of games over the years. People have got far to used to being handheld and walked through games. One of the major factors of the Thief series is perception/awareness of your surroundings.

Get up to the Thieves Highway, youll find the Clock Tower easier then.

Oh man, if you don't like the first part (Stonewater?) you're gonna hate the area that opens up after Chapter 2... I strayed off the beaten path a bit and now I have no clue where the hell I am xD

It takes some getting used to but it could certainly be better. I'd also like it if we could mark down locations on our map and add notes for reference, so I don't have to go exploring where that one house with the painting was located.
