Safe combination

Is there an "ability" way to open a safe, or only by knowing the combination? I mean like some "click" that an expert thief can hear while turning the dials. I've tried and in fact some numbers sound a little different, but I can't open it.

A true thief would go hunting for the code in the house, maybe its written inside a door, on a note, on the head of a manekin, explore!

most of them are on notes one is written on your map cause your not given a note to look at.

The safes are meant to opened by knowing the combo, there really isn't another "ability" way of opening them

It's either you find the exact code or you find 2 parts of it and just spin the third till it clicks

Combo somewhere in room or on note. Does this include the random safes around the city? Or do I need to wait for a side job to get combo.

There's only 1 safe that I didn't find the combo for in the hub area, so I had to brute force it. Turned out to be the current year.

You can purchase an ability to see the tumblers.

You can easily google a list of all the safe combos if you want to go that route. Kinda boring, but beats trying all possible combos (which was much faster in Dishonored) for a safe when you missed the combo or the combo is later in the level (to avoid backtracking).

A lot of the combinations are rather cleverly hidden in the text, such as having to figure out someone's birthday when all you have is a dated document that casually mentions how old the person was when it was written. Most are usually a bit simpler, but in the end, the documentation leads the way.

That's that dead pimp's safe from one of the first jobs you took from Basso. There's a document that mentions his safe was set to the current year, only that safe wasn't in the same area. It's easy to forget about.
