Blackjack Takedown -> Moving Body
Sometimes when I sneak up behind and knock out guards with my blackjack I am able to begin dragging their corpse before I set it down on the ground. Its much quicker to move bodies in this fashion because you don't need to wait for the animation of dropping them on the ground or the animation of picking them up. I can't remember if the game ever really told me how this is done. I have reloaded a save and attempted to do this but it seemed to work only once when I was spamming w, a, s, d, q and e while I knocked out the guard.

Anyone aware of how this knockout&drag technique is properly executed?

I think you just HOLD Q during the knock out. I could be wrong though, have to try it again to be sure.

Yep, that did it. Thanks for the help!

Ah thanks! I had done this accidentally and couldn't figure it out (kept trying to hold E). Not knowing how to do it had gotten me into some tricky spots before when I had to move quickly but was forced to wait for the drop and pick up animations.

Q is the default Takedown key.

The holding takedown is also slightly quieter than the tapped takedown, but has the disadvantage of leaving you in the open to slowly lug away the body.

The holding one is generally still better overall, though, and when I'm clearing out pairs of guards in the city, I'll often use the holding takedown to grab one, and then simply throw him to the ground in front of his alerted partner before I duke it out with the blackjack (the partner takes a little longer to react because of the holding takedown being quieter, giving more time to get read for dodging).
