Thief is like Dishonored?
Is it? anyone who played it can confirm? I don't wana play a Thief Dishonored (see what i did there) Also from the look of many gameplay videos it looks like it's super easy to kill multiply guards at the same time. I'm afraid this will become a fencing game instead of Thief.

Also, is it true this game has no jump? how the heck i'm supposed to escape from guards then? But if the reviews i've read 2 months ago are true, it might be because the AI was so poor that it could not detect players on high/low height. Please be honest.

EDIT: i've played original thief, and i know THIEF came first. And i want a THIEF game not DISHONORED. Every single review says it's like dishonored and that worries me.

No,Thief is more akin to Thief: Deadly Shadows then Dishonored...oh and btw the first 3 thief games came out before Dishonored was even a concept by Arkane Studios...And to make things clear.Dishonored is about a revenge seeking assassin,While Thief is more of...obviously a thief.Yes you can jump and escape from guards. And the ai checks more on visibility (which you can tell via the "light gem") then high or low heights.

i dont 'fence' (with a blackjack, thats pretty hard to do) because i choose not to. on my difficulty setting i technically probably could get away with it, but instead of just reload if i'm attacked.

how do you escape from guards? the platforming is basically a copy & paste of assassins creed. so, easily. you have a high profile button (with controller its LT) which serves as a sprint/mantle/jump, all contextually. its pretty damn intuitive & smooth in my experience.

note that garret is not altair, i am simply saying the system is very similar.

Well , corvo was an assassin , not a thief , they can both have powers and both be stealth , but how they use their powers and how they work is not the same.

To me , this explains all that needs to be said.

It's not like Dishonored. In that, combat was an easy option, but in Thief if you set the difficulty to Master, and turn off the extra help crap like Focus, it feels totally different. It feels like a Thief game should.

I loved Thief 1-3, far more than Dishonored, and I'm pleased with this one. It's still no masterpiece like the original Thief games, but it's easily the closest you can get these days.

Thief 1-3, Dishonored, Assassin's Creed ...tricksy-thievery stealth games; each born with its own supply of gaming goodness and love (except for AC3, that was an unloved b@st@rd child). Thief 4 has been a joy (so far) and, for what it's worth, I'm not disappointed.

Turn off all the HUD bells and whistles and slink around in the darkness...it's stealthy heaven.
