Following Erin in the beginning
I got to a jump and Erin jumps the distance but Garrett can't. Really? No rope arrows left. I only got one and used it to reach Erin initially. WHATS UP?!?!?! Oh you can't jump while running? Are you sure? So far this game sucks!!

Running on a PC, BYW.
You're quite literally in the tutorial area where they are teaching you the mechanics and you're already saying it sucks? Talk about not giving the game a shot. If you are where I think you are, you just have to head down into the streets and find another way up.

erin is younger, faster, stronger & more reckless. its the whole point. at least on the PC version you thankfully clarified youre playing. on consoles she has 34DDs & garrett makes that jump using her chest as a ledge.

I was able to jump some how. I realize this is the tutorial, not very good at letting you learn the interface now is it. Hate games that limit your ability to make them difficult. That's a lazy way to program.

I had this problem, follow Erin and get to small ledge, so I run and press jump and nothing happens, tried about a dozen times and eventually jumped across just running at it. Kind of annoying being nearly stuck within the first minute of the game. Running on a PC, BYW.

The game is really buggy with three buttons pressed (in this case shift+w+space for a running jump). Jumping is automatic but it doesn't always happen while running for a lot of people with the current keybindings.

The solution is to go into keybindings. Walk should be currently bound to W and the up-arrow, change the up-arrow binding to be shift (shift should now be bound to both walk and run as the game allows the same key to be bound to two or more different actions). You should now run automatically while holding shift, no need for shift+w. Jumping should now work as intended. Just hold shift+space when you are approaching something you want to jump and you will automatically jump.

Oh wait, can't. Sorry.

But you have my thanks.

One problem I have found though is that you have to remember to stop pressing W when you need to run. Because holding W while running causes jumps to go unresponsive again.

and turn it on in menue that it shows you the jump selection you can activate and turn it off to show ingame.

So many complaint threads from people who have no idea what they're doing.. What the actual F***.

I had the same problem. It happened because I started looking around and Erin was getting too far away from my character. You're supposed to keep up.

No it isn't, it is a bug that some people are experiencing that causes jumping while running to be completely non-functional with the current keyboard layout. Not everyone though. Why it is happening is anyones guess. It has nothing to do with people not knowing how it works or anything, so take your language and stupid attitude out.

Could be input lag then. I haven't experienced it on my system yet, but maybe anyone experiencing it could try lowering graphics settings and/or switching to the 32-bit mode of the game to test it out.
