"Thief technically offers the option to engage enemies in one-on-one combat, but the first-person fighting is so awkward that it's best avoided entirely. Put it this way: On a controller, the left shoulder button is used to dodge and the right shoulder button is used to attack. Yes, combat in this game is handled with the shoulder buttons."

After I've read this I had to stop.
Afraid of Innovation? Anyways, if you watched TBs video, you would know on the PC the attack for the blackjack is R which is usually used for reloading, and the mouse buttons are used for the bow and arrows, which I am guessing on the console the triggers (or R1 and L1, vice versa for R2 or L2 on ps3-4) are for the bow and arrow. Blackjack won't be used as often if you try to go for ghosting, so you would use your bow and arrow more often. that is why the attack button is for blackjack and placed weirdly.
