I really loved them
It's been a long time since I played Thief all the way through. Probably over a decade.
However, what I should have said is that I only remember them from being in Thief Deadly Shadows itself since they had an actual presence in the game world.
I also never really paid attention to the plot, I played the game for the levels and getting through them, not for the story line.
I was merely pointing out that Thief 1's plot revolved primarily around the Pagans, and you spent the latter parts of the game foiling their plans. Meanwhile, they turned up again in the middle of Thief 2, and served as Garrett's allies for the rest of that game.
