No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way?! LOL then I'm HUGELY impressed by Ressell, cause I couldn't tell Benny was Garratt's cousin lol.
Also I think one of the reasons we all fondly remember Stephen Russell is beacuse the originals were made in a time when voice acting in games was utterly shocking. He stood out from the crowd then but the collective quality has improved so much in recent years that I don't think we should worry too much about this new guy.
Another example of that evolution is the recent Splinter Cell. Even though Michael Ironside does propably have the best voice in the world, his replacement did a pretty decent job too!
Not to disrespect your experience but there are plenty of examples of good voice acting and lip syncing in situations where different or no motion capture took place. The same is true in animated TV and film. As for voice acting being generally shocking back in 1998. I think that may well be a case of you forgetting a lot of other games. Even before 98 there were plenty of titles with good and excellent voice acting. Of the top of my head, Beneath a Steel Sky, Fallout, Dark Forces 2 , Gabriel Knight, Grim Fandango and The Dig.
For me Stephen Russell is Garrett. I’m not saying that the new bloke isn’t any good. He’s just not Stephen Russell and doesn’t quit hit the same tone of cynical sarcasm.
I think most resonable people wouldn't be upset over changes because of they want to recreate the character.
My problem at least is from them basically choosing a new guy simply so they have the VA and MCA be one guy instead of two and making it fit together(They are making an entire video game I doubt it's outside of their ability)
I don't know if it's the case this time but with your MGS V(I think SC Blacklist did it too) example it's another blow that the original and fan favorite voice actor was completely blindsided by the decision
NO!
ALL CHANGE IS BAD!
GAME OVER I WILL NEVR BUY THIS GAME!
♥♥♥♥ IT I PRE-ORDERED, BUT I WONT LIKE IT!
OMG THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!
I ALWAYS KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE!
LOL HATERS ARE STUPID!!!!
But please stop making up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about not wanting to pay the original actor, etc. You're talking out of your ass and if they offended you and you dislike how they're going about making the game and the choices they take, don't give them your money. But I'm sure like the rest you will pay and enjoy it. Please try get over yourself and your idiotic nostaliga.
Yes it can but it can also be bad. I like to follow the old rule of if it’s not broken then don’t fix it.
LOL so much hate. What does my status have anything to do with this? Being a steam user you should know that had I pre-ordered the game, I would have a mouse icon beside my name.
And by the way, looks who's talking-------you haven't pre-ordered the game either, genius, so stop calling people out and assume what they have / haven't ordered.
