Mac graphic Issue

Hmm What happened? mac OS upgrade glitches? My game screen is sometimes filled with unwanted background graphic that looks like fog or cloud. It happens in the Benchmark mode as well. Any solution?

yes this happens to me too. you can see smoke and lightning and birds that are supposed to be in the background in front of everything. looks pretty bad...

Yeah, I have this too and looking for a solution. It's not somthing I see with other games using the Unreal Engine either. All other games play without any kind of graphic problem and run silky smooth and corruption free on my Macbook Pro (touchbar - w/460 4GB) in OSX (High Sierra). I'm going to install it in Windows via Bootcamp and see if that makes a difference. I suspect it's the way it's been repacked for OSX, probably a sloppy job.

To be honest:

The whole game got graphic Issues. It doesn't matter, if you got a good PC, Mac or Notebook.
It is no fun to play it.

Why? Let me just name two things:

1.The AI. Everyone who played the game will know, what I am talking about. On one hand, the guards are able to spot you through walls, but on the other hand they don't recognize you, even if you are just 1 meter in front of them.

2. Bugs and glitches everywhere! Jumping from a roof and landing on a market-stand? Possible! But there is no chance to move after that... Endless falling animation ftw.

But hey! The greatest thing was the Guard in Stonemarket, who spottet me on a rooftop.

You will think: Huh? It is possible for the AI to spot you on that rooftop!

I am all right with that. But when the AI started to shoot at me by using the sword-swing-animation I came to the following conclusion:

Quit that game, delete it and never touch it again!
(Is anyone out there, who got experience with the same issues? Recomment if you want!)

It’s not great, but fun enough for the pittance I paid for it. I almost completed it on PC years ago, twice, then again in PS4, and so I decided to finally put it to bed. I don’t think it’s worth asserting discouragement, the enjoyment one might get is a subjective matter. I do agree that it’s not worth the full price to me, but for some it might be. That said, I also agree that it’s flawed and pales in comparison to the earlier installments.

Regarding the issue at hand, I installed it on Windows via Bootcamp on the same hardware and it works fine, at least the background/foreground glitch with sky, lighting and smoke effects are gone. Of course it runs at a higher frame rate too. This confirms it’s an OSX implementation issue and not one I would expect to be fixed.

It should be noted that it’s not a driver problem within OSX as I don’t experience it on any other game.

I've reported this to Feral and they've been able to replicate it. They've added it to their bug fix queue and it will be addressed at, um, some point in the future 🙄

@Benj have you tried this on an older version? I just went back over the response from Feral and it was all "new graphics drivers"

Sorry for the delay, haven't been around recently. Olded version of the OS? I'm always on the most recent version and OS bundled drivers too, I don't recall ever having a combination where it woked properly, except for in Windows.

Has anyone found a workaround for this?

I have also contacted Feral, back in April, and they promptly acknowledged the issue. However, still no fix after 5 months. I have almost given up hope.
