Game breaking bug?

After the first segment of the game, you should be able to enter Kazus. However, it acts as if you have not confronted Arc in Ur. Luneth approaches a ghost, and then runs away. I went back to my save before beating the Dijinn, but now I can't press the button! Should I just restart the game?

By button I mean the skull that opens the door

Wow, 10 years and not one single reply or help, this happened when I first tried this version. It's because you need to go back to the starting village and talk to the elders, should be 3 inside a room. They'll tell you about your duty etc then return to the ghost town and his friend will be there for the scene to join instead of that ghost that kept scaring him away. I'm sure you long since got by, hopefully anyone else that has this issue will at least know why the ghost is helping them from progressing
