Another Monk noob
Hello guys,

I have some doubts about Monks in this game.

1) I've read on the internet, and a friend told me, that we shouldn't equip weapons on them, what about armor and accessories?

2) At what job lvl does the Monk start doing decent damage? Because right now he barely hits the 30s ...

3) My lineup right now is:

Warrior (Luneth) front
B. Mage (Arc) rear
W. Mage (Refia) rear
Monk (Ingus) front

Is it good? Should I change Ingus to Thief?

Thanks!

You can equip armor & accessories on the monks, its just they do more damaga unarmed.
I'm not sure what lv they start doing better damage , what lv is your party right now?

Monk is decent until you upgrade it to the black belt after that it gets obselete.

Thanks!

I have other doubts too:

1) Why are some of my chars attributes green?
2) How do the elemental staffs work? It says for example "Casts Fire" but I don't know how to use it. The Attack command just seems to hit physically...
3) Is there any advantage for a mage to dual wield staffs?

1. Thats usually means your stat gains a increase when you equip something for the job you're using.
2. You need to equip it then during a battle you can go into items, scroll to where it shows your equipped weapons then use it.
3. The attack command is just attacking physically any job can hit stuff with their weapons. If you want to cast magic you need to use the magic command, you need to be a mage job & have spells first.
4. Dual wielding staves is good for mages since it usually boosts their intelligence or mind. Its mainly for the stat boosts not attacking stuff. Keep your mages in the back row always.

The most effective way to increase bare hand damage is to increase your job level. Levelling the character also adds to their strength, but damage increases from strength usually do not keep pace with your job level growth when you dedicate a character to one job for the larger part of your playtime.

Job levels are easy to farm if you go back to the very beginning and just block goblins for several rounds before killing them.

Other than that, I can't tell you flat out what job level does "decent" damage because opinions vary, and damage is ultimately mitigated by the level and defense stat of what you fight. If you want to do decent damage, being on-level or overlevelled compared to enemies is usually the way to go.
