Question: Fire/Ice staff
So I have the 2 staves.. How do I use them to cast fire and blizzard? Also for the tower with Desch (spelling?) Do I have to keep the whole party a frog?

No, you only have to cast frog to enter the 2nd floor of the tower. Once there you can 'un-frog' yourselves. I don't know about the staves, I never EVER use them.

Sweet. Thanks for the help Sister Abigail and Mr. Bananananananan. Guess I will just sell the staves then.
Well, i wouldnt sell em. They're really good staffs. Unless you have better staffs, i recommend keeping them :)

off topic question: 2 warriors and 2 red mages. Decent party or not so much?

4 monks?! That's crazy.. I like the warriors because of the charge ability they have (forgot the real name) If I should switch one of my red mages, what should I switch to? Just beat the fire crystal boss so I have all the jobs till that point.

I personally like to have a red mage and a black mage. I primarily use my red mage for healing and getting into certain dungeons (Mini/Toad), but also equip a couple damaging spells. I give my red mage two good swords to battle with for when I'm saving my MP for health. The black mage has a lot more MP than the red mage, so while the red mage is slashing foes to peices, the black mage can cast however much it wants. I keep each character leveled up well in multiple jobs, so if any of my mages runs out of MP (this has only happened once, and at a low level), I can change them into a fighter. So far this has been working for me, and I have gotten the Nautilus (before realizing that I missed an enemy that I had to restart my save to kill).

doesn't the staves just do ice/fire damage and therefor are more efficiant againt monsters w ice/fire weakness?

to use the staves as spells, go to item in battle, press up and it shows your equipped weapons, select a spell casting staff and it will cast a spell associated with the elemental property of it (works with almost any weapon with elemental properties, even some non elemental)

You are correct, I found myself using these staves on my white and black mage. Mid game they are excellent for doing damage to most enemies for FREE. Even your white mage becomes lethal with them. Tip: buy 2 of each element so both white and black can equip 2 different elements for any encounter you might face.

Another note I would like to add is that near the end of the game you also get Fire, Ice and Lightning Rods which is the equivalent of the Fira/Blizzara and Thundara spells so they update as well in a way!
