Story Glitch? Refia and Mythril Ram

This is driving me crazy since I can't find anyone else with this problem. After returning to Kazus, I talked to Cid and Takka, who says he's made the Mythril Ram. Everything I read everywhere says once I leave town and board the airship Refia will reappear and rejoin the party, and then I can go remove the boulders with the ship. However, I leave the town, go to the airship...and continue flying around in the airship getting more and more annoyed. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a fix for it that doesn't require me restarting the game?

Cid has to be a guest in your party, you can't break the boulder if Cid is not with you.

I was wondering if that might have something to do with it. Problem is, Cid shoudl be "in" my party, but has not replaced that "Desch" character. The only thing I have found regarding him says I have to get rid of him by doing some other quest...which I can't do since I can't leave the area.

I'm pretty sure that's not the problem though, since I'd imagine I can have more than one "guest" at a time, but Cid "joined my party," is gone from the world as far as I can tell, and isn't triggering any events with the airship. I'm pretty sure I'm just missing something but it's rather frustrating.

I've never heard of anyone having this problem before. I would just talk to everyone again. Where are you right now?

I encounterd this bug too. There's no known fix, and I ended up having to use cheat engine to fix it

Ugh...thanks for everyone's help. How difficult is using cheat engine? It's been a long time since I used third party software to mess with a game haha. Otherwise I suppose I can wait for a patch.

If the patch for this issue ever appears. I have still not seen a patch issued for the issue others were having, with the boat disappearing and having them stuck walking on water, which also means having to restart the game.

Cheat engine is a hacking program mostly used for online games though it can be used to cheat in PC games as well. It's difficult if you don't know what to do with address and numbers everywhere. At least from what I remember...
