SAVE. SAVE. SAVE LIKE YOU'RE PLAYING DARK SOULS.
If you're one of the few who can actually play this game, save all the damn time. In multiple slots. So many different parts of this game run a huge chance of bugging out on you that its not even funny. SAVE. SAVE. SAVE. AND FFS SAVE!

Not had a crash yet.

It auto saves every time you enter or exit towns or dungeons though. So there's very few occasions when you would lose more than a few minutes of play.

The most annoying thing for me is that if you leave the game running, and go do something for 10 minutes or so, my wireless 360 pad switches itself off.
And I have to exit the game and restart to get it to pick the pad up again.

This is specific to people using wireless pads though I suppose. So no worries to most.
And it's only caught me out once where I actually was in a dungeon if I'm honest.
I couldn't fathom what the keys were to get into the menu to teleport out and have it auto save either. So I ended up walking out with the arrow keys lol.

That reminds me I need to check what the keys are ^_^

Am I the only one who has yet to encounter a bug? I guess it is because I use the keyboard.

I run keyboard but I've run into several bugs ranging from a complete reset of the storyline when going back to the starting village to having the sprite for The Enterprise dissappear in between battles while trying to fill the monster bestiary and not being able to get back on land.

I even got two achievements prematurely from a bug somehow. Got the two gil-related achievements randomly when I only had 5000-ish gil.

Maybe it is related to OS?

It's always good practice to save before and after major events in this game but...

The game holds an auto save for you every time you exit / enter a village / dungeon /enemy encounter (including bosses)...

It's actually quite lenient compared to the DS version of the game which only loaded from Save Slots like the traditional FF's.

If you get in to a battle that you know you're going to lose you can simply press "start" and quit to the menu then choose "Continue" and you will load your state just before the fight... so for example, trying to steal Gungnir from Odin or accidentally fighting Iron Giant are good examples of reasons to quit out.

I HAVE had the game crash on me but it was mostly from checking out the bestiary. For some reason it tends to randomly crash after you exit the mog. No big deal though because it saves your state just as you leave a town.

As long as your party doesn't wipe in battle you can abuse the "continue" system like crazy... You can literally walk through an entire dungeon never fighting a battle, just collecting treasure :)

The difficult levels set for the game are: Very Easy, Easy, Normal or Medium, Hard, Very Hard, Veteran, Professional, Sith Master and Dark Souls....

lol quick save doesnt work if your death

Are the autosaves actual saves?
The lack of save points makes me not interested in this game
Lockestadt Jun 3, 2014 @ 8:22pm
Yes and no. They're only accessable once, but they happen often. And its possible to manual cause an autosave file via quicksave, which can be done anywhere but ejects you to the "Continue, New Game, Load Game" start menu when done.
My game never bugs out, but I need to remember that. Today I finally defeated that fire guy (forgot his name) and got all those cool new jobs, but i forgot to save and went to the town under attack and i didnt know i would be transported to a place where i cant save. Turns out I died and had to start the whole thing over xD

I wish I could have seen this post sooner... Game bugged on me near the end of the game, story was reset to the beginning. It's impossible to fix, gotta start from scratch -.-

I just got this and succumbed to the job change bug. All my hours for nothing! If someone has a relatively early-ish save, I would appreciate it. I'll keep multiple copies from now on

:)

Got stuck on sasuna castle on the beginning. When i got ingus on the party, if i try to leave the castle Ingus is blocking the door from the outside, and if i go again to talk to the king, i have the cutscene againd, and get ingus again ¿? but when i go out again, he is still blocking the door again.. so stuck forever on the castle. I loaded a save game before the castle but the same repeats when i enter in it.
Are there any way to repair this kind of bugs, or should i uninstall this game now?

Are you sure you've cleared the story requirements to move forward? If I remember right if you go to the right tower of the castle there's a princess that you can talk to which should advance the story to get Ingus out of your way.

Haven't read the post, busy day, just wantd to say I myself haven't had a bug yet, and thought this was a rage post about difficulty or something. Hope the bug problem didn't cause too much of a dilema for you.

I also use K/M.
