Music not properly working?
So I've been trying to get into playing through the FF series and today I wanted to start up this game. I've noticed some strange things happening with my game, and not entirely sure if the "recent" patch may have been a cause. Unfortunately I don't think I'm seeing many hits when going through the discussions, so I'm just posting my issues.

1) I've noticed the music seems to be extremely loud. So loud at points it seems quite distorted where you can hear that "fuzzyness" as certain points. I've tried turning it down both in game and through windows (Windows it's at half overall volume, in game it's at 2) and while it's not overpowering, it still has that "fuzzyness" at times. Honestly it's at a more bearable volume for me I've just decided to put up with it.

2) Music does not seem to play at times. I'm not sure what's even causing this one. When I was first playing through it today, everything seemed fine up until I got on the airship. When in it, no music was playing, only the SFX from it. Seemed wrong, but didn't stop me. Then I got to the point where you get the ship. I get on that, no music, only ocean sounds. Okay fine, whatever. Moving on, I decided to explore and found the chocobo forest. Decided to take one out for a spin. Guess what? No usual chocobo music! So it seemed what I'm labeling as the Transportation Music has not been playing for me.

3) Music does not play at all. So I was seeing if I could try to fix the second issue somehow, so I decided "let's save the game, maybe close out the game, possibly tweak some settings (originally playing borderless, 1920x1080, uncheck pause game checkbox), and see if that can fix the issue. Everything still seems normal so far. I then load my save data. I'm sitting on the overworld, but this time, no music is playing. Since I saved by the chocobo forest, figured I'd check that out. That's still not playing. The only music that plays for me, is the battle music, and the victory music. Nothing else.

So I have two questions in mind if anyone could know the answer to them. Was this ever an issue prior to the last patch, and does anyone know if there's even a way to fix it?

If need be, I could sort of give video proof. It's not gonna be the best only because how much I had to turn down the audio, but you can see what I mean by points 2 and 3.

I'm having this same issue. Is there a mod that can fix it?

I actually managed to find a post somewhere buried on here, long story short, game doesn't like surround sound and you have to change your audio to stereo. Will repost a link when I find it again.

I also think it's somewhat hilarious that this is a problem since 2014, and still lingering. But yeah, I did that for my end and it did fix my issue. Haven't had a problem since.
