FF3 Wont launch

I just bought the game and it wont launch properly it starts and then the logo is all glitched then it crashes, any way to fix it?

It started working Visual c++ x64 and x86 might've helped but I found going to a really low resolution and slowly working my way up helped I started at 512x384 windowed

Installing Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 version worked. Other posts suggest the 2012 version but that didnt fix my issue.

@vespar, it won't let me install it, saying that the installer can't run on my PC

any way to fix this ?

It won't launch for me, either. I'm not sure what the issue is, but it hasn't launched in over a month. Which is upsetting because I am going for the Steam achievements, and I was almost finished with the game. I know nothing about how to make it run; I just know that it ran relatively fine one day, and then would not launch the next.

That is strange. I was just playing the game yesterday on my machine. Try validating your local files and see if steam needs to repair something. If that doesn't work maybe delete the local files and try downloading the game again?

Any chance you can walk me through the validation process? I have no idea how to do that.

I just found, by installing another game.

Chrono Trigger. This game makes me install VCRedist in version 2005.
And there, a miracle. I can finally run FF3.

Getting exactly the same for both 3 and 4's 3D remakes, absolutely nothing is fixing it. Guess they're just bricked by one windows update too many.
UPDATE: If any of you all use MSI Afterburner or something similar, it is likely the culprit. Never seen a game so poorly coded that it rejects it by crashing, but here we are. This seems to apply to FF3, 4 and The After Years as well.

Yep. That did it. Whatever VC Redist is loaded it just fine.

It works for me when i install FF4 3D Remake, it installs something needed for the FF3 3D Remake.

Same thing here. FF3 did not run, I played 5 minutes of CT, and FF3 run smoothly...
