Extremely loud music

I'm using my good old Logitech G35 7.1 surround headset. When playing this game, the game is deafening loud, even when I turn the volume down to 2%, which is minimum before it mutes.

The thread currently below this one, has a link to a tip about changing from surround to stereo, but that doesn't work, since I cannot select anything else than 7.1 surround.

Anyone knows how to solve this? The game is unplayable with this issue, especially since playing a muted game isn't an option for me.

Same happens to me. I have a G933 headphones and I can't select stereo in the windows audio config menu, only 7.1. Connect your device with 3.5mm jack

Ok I think here is a solution:
DISABLE any spacial sound (Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, DTS Sound Unbound)
Use a configuration strictly stereo.

Here my specs:
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, version 1909, build 18363.836
Audio driver 6.0.8703.1
MOBO H110M-H Gigabyte

Not a solution for me. From my original post:

Did you try to use stereo headphones? The mine are Sony MDR-ZX310AP

Very satisfied with those I have, which works flawlessly in every single game except this one. Not going to buy new ones just because of this game.
