E3M2 bug or problem with the blue door

hey heretic family i'm having an issue with E3M2 the cesspool. I've done everything gotten all the keys but when i get to the blue door it doesn't open and i'm stuck is it a bug or am i missing something? any help would be appreciated thank you!

Hmm, that actually might be one of those trick activations. Been a while since I been to that episode but sometimes with these games, a door that's obviously open with a key is sometimes opened by a blue activation elsewhere in the level. Some I can think of like this are duke and blood.

However it could also be a glitch, there is a glitch like that in i think the 2nd or 3rd episode of blood in the last level where if you fall back down a waterfall you can get locked out by a glitched door. Or the door is only suppose to open once.

I beat heretic all the way up to the last ep and it is a confusing game, but not as bad as duke imo. I never got glitched or had to restart. It could be a glitch but from my exp with heretic I never saw anything that blocked me completely from progress.

It could be possible that this activation is elsewhere and the blue is only signifying the door that opens because of this trigger. But I could be wrong, have you tried googling the level and seeing if someones got a ytube run of it?

@unseen i read a few walkthroughs and watched a few youtube videos and replayed the level twice and i think i can say my game glitched and thats why it doesnt open because after picking up the blue key and walking towards the blue door its supposed to open and the wall across from it that takes you back to the spawn room is also supposed to open. But it doesnt in my game so i ended up just using level skip lol weird because every other level and episode worked flawlessly.

Yea its not unusual I've seen glitches like that as well in games. One game called the stalin subway I had to uninstall cause one level had a glitched door. And no matter how many times I restarted mission the door would not open.

I think it was connected to the same save game too, cause no matter how far I rolled back same glitched door. Sucks cause stalin subway was a decently fun shooter with ok weapons but damn glitched doors.

No clipping didn't work either cause it just made me stuck in limbo.

I've just played through this level and can confirm it's not a glitch. The source of confusion is that there's a wall in front of the blue door but it does not block off the blue door markers, making it appear that the wall is the blue door. There's a switch elsewhere in the level which moves the wall out of the way.

Unfortunately I can't remember exactly where the switch is; indeed, I couldn't be sure which one it was because you never see what a switch does when you press it and I didn't check over the level each time I pressed a switch. But I completed the level in a half hour on my first attempt, so it can't be too well-hidden.
