That's because the Mail Order Version of Heretic is Really Rare & Hard to Find.

Cool.
I also have a bunch from Apogee mail-orders. The Doom & Heretic manuals are pictured in the link below, albeit not completely expanded. The Heretic one folds out into a poster with the Brom cover (from the mail-order cover) on one side & the instructions on the other. If you're interested I could take a picture of both sides & post it.

I'm so Jealous... all absolute treasures!
If you don't mind, could I have some scans of the Heretic mail order stuff? (manuals and fold out poster mainly)
I have had a nightmare of a time finding it... I have a box of SOTSR but finding the mail-order has been a nightmare for me, even though I had no problem finding a Doom 1.2 mail order years ago.
There's a video I want to make on Heretic eventually, and that manual is the main reason I haven't yet. Somehow, I was able to find 3.5 Disk images on Heretic v1.0 though.

Edit : On second thought, I can scan portions, crop them, & turn them into a PDF pretty easily. I'll also zip the scans with it.
I only ask to be given the link to your video (either here or via DM) in exchange as there's entirely too little coverage of Heretic & I'd love to see it.
I would appreciate that IMMENSELY. :D Thanks so much! Please feel free to send me a dm.
And of course! I try to make very in depth videos so I can go into everything the game had/still has to offer. I go over the game's history, then the unboxing and versions, then a look at everything in the game itself and whether I think it's worth playing or not nowadays. 90% of these are/will continue to be dos and early windows games. I did a pretty lengthy hour long video on the entire classic doom series, and I've been meaning to so with the serpent riders series for a while. Although I want to do each game individually since they're all so different from eachother. I always make it an absolute must for me to own the original boxed copy of the game I'm looking at, but this one will be one of the few exceptions since it's just way too difficult for me to get one anytime soon.. let alone for a reasonable price. The last complete one I saw went for something ridiculous like 700$. So yeah, hang on to that thing tight because you might never get to see it again if you part with it.
And yeah it does seem tricky to get scans of the manual since it's a huge poster. Maybe like you said try scanning each individual "page" and then combine them into a PDF so it goes page by page.
This was an unexpectedly long message, sorry LOL
I definitely never intend to part with it but that is absolutely nuts that it commands that sort of price.
I sent you an encyclopedia of a DM, so I'm right there with you lol.
So the only way to get Heretic is the Serpent Riders version?
