The problem with more passive slots is that it makes the build less focused and it leads to less attack skill upgrades because passives will come up more (4:6 instead of old 4:4), even once all 10 slots are filled.
The solution to the above is either allowing us to banish skills or allowing us to set the number of passives before the match starts. Or you could do both.
Also, thank you VERY MUCH for allowing Hyper Mode in the game! It has been one of the sore spots for me personally, as it sometimes felt kind of like a drag with how long it takes to get places and so far it feels like it is fixed and allowing me to be more engaged with the game at hand!
Yeah, I do kind of agree with this.
Personally I am in favour of having the 2 extra slots, as it really helps a lot with getting rid of the FOMO feeling I had before. BUT the Banish tokens would also be a REAL great treat!
I think you could even fix multiple problems in one go if you would add a way of players acquiring banish tokens; remove the current quest system and replace it with an achievement system.
This way you could fix/balance the following:
- By removing the current quest system you'll remove the horrible re-rolling just to get an easy task giving better rewards compared to killing bosses/doing floors, which makes completing all floors a lot more satisfying (at least to me personally)
- You'd be able to allow players to repeat achievements for money/xp, but only give a bigger reward like global buffs, amount of (extra) rerolls/banishments, new classes, and the many potential other extras
- Alternatively you could reward players with a alternate currency so they can choose their own progression in said rewards
- Cross-progression between characters will feel less harsh, as it might be just the character that plays that gets the xp, but introducing rewards that effect all classes will make playing a level 1 character after a level 20 character just a tad more fun AND less like you wasted a lot of time
Or at the very least, this is the way that I would look at it, but I could imagine many others might disagree or think this would be too much like other systems; as it will clearly come with negatives/other problems of itself!
I'll try and make a new feedback post in the coming days, as just like before, the more input from the community, the better the idea on what to focus on!
