Resolution issue

So I changed the resolution accidently to a size my monitor doesn't display and this game doesn't have 'Keep changes yes or no' and then revert to previous in 10 seconds, so I was pretty screwed, I opened up the files and tried changing the resolution in the config, for some unknown reason this did nothing. Can anyone help me?

You'll have to go into safe mode and change the resolution on your monitor.

So going into safe mode on my pc and changing resolution will reset it for all games? Never done it before :P

You just need to bring the resolution to what your monitor supports. There is no need to modify the game config if you accidently changed the resolution on the montior. The resolution for the game will stay set according to the config of the setup. If you modify the config file for your game, change the settings back to what they were before.

I didn't change it for the montior, I changed the in game resolution.. The resolution in the game has not stayed set according to the config, I changed the config resolution to 1900x1080, which my monitor supports and which I have running right now and yet I still get 'No connection' black screen when I load up the game.

I went into the M&MX folder in Documents, changed the resoulution to 19200x1200, and my screen looks and works great now. Text is centered perfectly too.

In game, it will say it's 1024x800, or some such, not accurate, but who cares. ;)

I'll give 1920x1200 a try but I doubt it'll work, fingers crossed though :P

be sure t check for some refresh key in the config. maybe it has something your monitor does not support?

This is getting so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying, I don't understand. I've fully deleted and re installted the game multiple times now but for some reason the resolution won't go back to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ original setting

The resolution shown in the game menu does not reflect any changes I've found. I set the res to 1920x1200 in my options "file"; and that's what it is in game, but that's not what the in-game video options say.

I don't know what the resolution is set to in game, I accidently changed it, I've changed it in the options file but it does nothing, I don't think theres a solution.. I tried running it in compatability modes and in 640x480, nothing works. Hopefully someone on the dev team see's this and can shine some light on it.

Hello Daza,

Sorry you have such a issue with the game. You tried to modifiy the options.txt in your MyDocuments/MightAndMagicXLegacy, right? If that is not working can you please delete the file and start the game again? A new file should be created with default settings. If that issue still occurs can you please upload your log files and also your options.txt in the early access technical feedback forum? That would help us to fix this issue.

I deleted the file and opened the game again.. still the same problem only another file has not been made :P

refresh rate was what i meant. and a key in ini for it.

When un-installing the game make sure to clean up all files from your hard drive. A program will leave a config file or prefs file behind depending on the developer. When you think you have a fresh install the program just loads the settings from before because the config file was left behind.
