Warden Promotion Bug - Point Blank Shot

There is a bug in the Ranger to Warden Promotion. The only way to 'free the animals' is to hire Spike and then click on the empty cage. But if I do this I 'get' the Warden promotion and 'point blank shot' appears in my book - but it won't let me use it because it says I need to be promoted to Warden first.

If I look, 'Warden Promotion' appears in my completed quest log - but only the 'kill the poachers' part...'free the animals' is missing.

Has anyone out there been able to use 'Point Blank Shot'? And if so, how?

That's right, the text of the completed warden quest does not show the free animals part.
You can only use point blank shot "against all enemies in FRONT of the party". Does that help?

Thanks for your reply. After trying pretty much everything I could think of I found out that (bizzarely enough) point blank shot doesn't activate unless the warden is holding a melee weapon. I had sold my dagger long ago and had been wielding just a bow so I couldn't hit '1' by mistake. So now I'm holding a dagger and I can do point blank.

I've tested that and got the same result. Kudos to you for figuring it out.
